Italian fashion mainstays Emporio Armani have stepped forward with an earth-conscious effort for Spring/Summer 2023, debuting their ‘Sustainable Collection’.
The Giorgio Armani-led collection sees the designer follow on from his recent Milan Fashion Week runway show, which saw models display broad smiles, happy demeanours, and a general rebuttal of typical runway etiquette, by tackling more serious issues, this time around sustainability. Looking to bridge the gap between high-fashion and the general topic of sustainability, this curated selection of pieces takes some of Armani’s lifestyle essentials and gives them a dose of SS23′ with all new colour schemes and shapes. Focusing on production, the collection looks to utilise organic and recycled materials by using matter produced through organic farming and without harmful pesticides, with soil fertility also being addressed. As seen throughout campaign imagery, the collection features everything from formalwear like waistcoats and linen shirts to dungarees and t-shirts, with footwear, knitted jumpers, sweatshirts, jeans and accessories also making appearances.
