PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

A sneaker-come-loafer? The jury is still out for many, but for those that dig it, New Balance are leading the way. This 1906L “Royal Oak” brings forth some rich dark brown suede detailing, spreading the soft material across the entirety of the pair’s upper and being contrasted with the cemented in place black midsole section. One with summer in mind.

Whilst we’re on the topic of summer 2025, this pair of adidas Tokyos are expected to be all the rage. Moving on from the unrivalled success of the Samba silhouette, adidas are reaching even further into their retro bag, digging out this heritage pair and reinterpreting it with shiny red and white leathers, a vintage-style gum outsole, and gold trefoil “adidas Tokyo” text. The calm before the storm, get them while they’re available.

Block colour sneakers are still very much in, and Nike are looking to keep their Air Max silhouettes on top of the game through a vibrant “Habanero Red” entry. The all-new Nike Air Max Muse clearly takes inspiration from the brand’s recently-popularised Spiridon silhouette, with a raised, arched midsole section being cushioned with a typical Air Max bubble, whilst silver metallic Nike accents lean into an early 00s colour palette.

A bolt from the blue of high-fashion arrives in the form of the AMIRI x Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO Sneaker, a shape that meets in the middle of AMIRI’s Skel Top-Low and Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO’s OG Sole “Peterson” Sneakers. The joint pair comes to life through Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO’s “original sole,” a style that is crafted by hand using clay, whilst being paired with AMIRI’s signature nappa leather ‘Bones’ appliqué on a canvas body. A black and white colour scheme makes sure this pair plays it relatively safe, but it’s clean nonetheless.

We think this pair of Hiking Patrol x Diemme Movidas is the closest thing you’ll get to a luxe Prada America Cup dupe, and the quality is all there too. Coming adorned with a playful lace flap, this all patent leather sneaker brings the best of Hiking Patrol’s simplistic design touch to Diemme’s more lifestyle-oriented Movida sneaker.
