Summer 2013 we are not going to miss out on ethnic and tribal prints, it can (and should) be on everything from shirts to hats and iPhones. Mix African prints with classic colors and shapes, it is both wearable and a fun casual look. Dent De Man’s collection is definitely not shy and gives us a strong example of how it can be done.
Urban Outfitters has been promoting this trend for a while and recently with the pop-up “BAZAAAAAR Street Market” that opened in LA and in New York last week (some of the things can be found online). All to celebrate sustainable fashion and artists, such as accessories from African Lookbook – www.africanlookbook.com – and hats from Babatunde, www.babatunde.co.za.
More inspiration from the design collective Fashion Rising who got some good looking bags this season, and are working to prevent violence against women and girls around the world.
Topman and H&M are also pushing this trend. Find a shirt with a great print and/or a pair of loud colored shoes.
