It’s September and a new fashion season is here. We at PAUSE welcome it with a top-to-toe style report!
HATS:
Hats are a great way to change up an outfit to make you look smarter(!) or more casual as you wish. There is a huge selection this season: knitted hats, fur hats, berets, kepis, baseball caps and many more. Here is a small selection of styles and how to wear them.
THE BOMBER:
The bomber is becoming a favourite among many brands and style experts. This time the bomber is not only for casual weekends; its design is much closer to the body and offers more stylish silhouettes. It appears on the runway in many different prints and fabrications, for example hi-tech varieties, leather and wool.
CUFFED TROUSERS:
A mix between the jogger pants and the more tailored chino. We can find them in lightweight cottons or heavier weaves. Top Man got some great inspiration for you right here.
SHOES:
As the temperature drops your footwear needs an update. Leather boots in many forms can be found, so choose what you like the most, but remember it should complement the rest of your style.
The leather high-top sneakers are a stylish way to wear comfortable shoes. The running sneakers (still) got a high trend factor this season and we keep finding new great designs out there. Choose black and white for a classic look, but remember that shoes are the perfect opportunity to add some colour to your outfit.
LAYERS OF DARK & BLUE SHADES:
Deep blacks all the way to light ashy grays, there are over 50 shades of grey and this season they’re all in style. Wearing them all at once is even better! The combination of shades, prints and texture gives you endless opportunities to create interesting looks.
Add some inky blue if you wish! All shades of blue are now on the catwalks, dusty blue at Gucci and navy blue at Acne. The combination of different shades goes hand in hand with the layering trend. It’s a perfect time to discover new ways to combine the clothes you already have at home! Image below shows Acne navy-blue and white micro-dot wool trousers, a great modern approach to tailoring. Team with the matching Acne Drifter jacket and switch your shirt and tie for a graphic tee.
CITY-SLEEK CASUAL:
It’s a hard thing to pin down, but you know it when you see it: pulled-together, stylish outfits. No need for crazy colours, prints or ironic accessories. Focus on a foundation of classic essentials. You probably, right now, have many of the basic elements in your closet. But if you’re missing a piece, here’s some inspiration.
1. Orlebar Brown 2. Alexander Wang 3. Converse 4. Neil Barrett 5. Illevesta 6. Junya Watanabe 7. Oliver Spencer
