Pharrell’s name is synonymous with the word style and so it should be no great surprise to hear that he’s taking on a new venture in the fashion world. But it is. And we’re practically climbing the walls in anticipation of a new collaboration he’s working on with a name you may not expect.
Adidas have just announced a long-term partnership with the Grammy award-winning artist that’s to be debuted as soon as the summer of 2014. Although much hasn’t been said, we’ve got our hands on the launch video which gives us a glimpse into what to expect. The short clip gives us a knee down perspective of a backwards walking Pharrell, wearing his infamous customised pair of Stan Smiths with the phrase ‘I Dunno’ sprawled across the side in a vibrant child like scribble.
This is the first time Adidas have worked with a designer who’s got their own textile company. Pharrells eco-friendly textile company; Bionic Yarn, uses plastic and debris from the ocean that is then turned into yarn and fabric. Bionic Yarn will also be used in some of Pharrell’s upcoming Adidas Originals products.
