Educating Felix.
One of the more unexpected partnerships of the year this far, denim giant Levi’s recently unveiled their latest collaborative offering, this time around teaming up with iconic cartoon character Felix the Cat for a collegiate inspired collection.
Affectionately dubbed ‘Felix the Graduate’ the collection explores the idea of Felix in college with a slew of appropriately themed wares spanning the likes of varsity-style sweaters, rugby shirts, hoodies, jackets, trousers, and tops. Taking a suitably 90s inspired approach to details with an overall college prep aesthetic throughout, the whimsical offering features co-branding alongside Felix associated iconography across a number of pieces. Speaking on the release, Karyn Hillman, Chief Product Officer at Levi’s commented:
“We wanted to do a collaboration with Felix that felt unexpected for everyone. And so we came up with this concept of Felix the Graduate, and what Felix would be wearing as a student. The preppy, varsity look is so relevant for today, and we like that it felt crisp and smart but still really relaxed and easy. There’s definitely a sense of humour about the collection, which of course is perfect for Felix. We had so much fun putting our spin on the collegiate elements and making them feel fresh and modern, and then combining them with iconic imagery from the Felix archives.”
