Blazy @ Bottega.
Following yesterday’s news that the revered Daniel Lee had stepped down as Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, the Italian label has wasted no time in finding a replacement in French counterpart Matthieu Blazy.
Taking over with immediate effect, the Paris born designer has previously held positions including men’s designer for Raf Simons, alongside other roles at Maison Martin Margiela Céline and under Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, before finally landing as RTW Design Director at Bottega Veneta in 2020. Speaking on the news, Leo Rongone, CEO of Bottega Veneta said:
“Matthieu Blazy is an extraordinarily talented individual, whom I am proud and excited to entrust with the creative helm of our luxury House. Bottega Veneta has always been equated with signature craftsmanship and distinctive creativity. Matthieu’s appointment will further enhance the modern relevance of our brand and accelerate our growth, while preserving the values that are at the core of Bottega Veneta.”
Thoughts? Matthieu Blazy will present his first collection for Bottega Veneta in February 2022.
