Coming this AW22'.
Luxury brand HELIOT EMIL have teamed up with futuristic brand SCRY to create a a range of entirely 3D printed footwear for Autumn/Winter 2022.
With cutting edge technology, SCRY have formed a wireframe solution using artificial intelligence which makes it possible for 3D printing to take place, with the brand using the technology to print large structures that utilise resistant material whilst also maintaining flexibility. The use of this type of technique is the first of its kind.
The collaboration itself sees the 3D printing technology form three different variants of shoe, with HELIOT EMIL designing an all-black line-up of 3D printed boots, clogs, and heels. The chunky aesthetic of the shoes are reminiscent of similar shoes on the market, with Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta silhouettes coming close, but a distinct different comes in the manufacturing process. The 3D printing of the range sees the elimination of waste in the construction process, and every fibre in the material can be repurposed to form and construct new shoe designs for the future, making this one of the most sustainable methods in the fashion world.
The Creative Director of HELIOT EMIL, Julius Juul, stated that “working with Olivia and Zixiong from SCRY has been an absolute pleasure, I absolutely love when you meet people who are so talented and passionate about innovation who also share my thoughts on aesthetics. The technology behind these boots is so extensive it is really something you have to see to believe it. I am so excited to release this collaboration and give people a chance to see the amazing work we did with SCRY’.”
