Set for Release in December & January.
Iconic underground Italian streetwear brand Slam Jam look set to team up with global sportswear giants Nike for another collaborative release as the duo unveil official imagery for their soon-to-release Air Force 1 capsule.
Having most recently come together for a black and white iteration of the Dunk High sneaker, Slam Jam and Nike are back at it again as the famous duo unveil imagery for two collaborative iterations of the Air Force 1 sneaker, which is set to arrive in two ‘White’ and ‘Black’ colourways. When travelling between Milan and New York City in the 1980s, Slam Jam founder Luca Benini was inspired by how the two cities shared a similar energy, yet offered opposing expressions, with this latest collaboration taking a New York classic- the Nike Air Force 1- and looking to bridge the metaphorical gap between Milan and NYC and offer up something representative of the two cities’ separate energies.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Nike’s famous silhouette, the release sees two ‘White’ and ‘Black’ leather versions of the shoe arrive, with the pairs boasting a unique textured material on the medial panels, replacing the typical leather, whilst hits of suede adorn the Nike Swooshes and heel tabs. Additionally, a perforated Slam Jam ‘A’ logo adorns the toe box over the traditional Nike AF1 signature, whilst flat-lying layered laces and co-branded insoles and tongues round out the overall look.
The Slam Jam x Nike Air Force 1 in ‘White’ will release on December 10th via the Slam Jam website and December 12th on the SNKRS app. The ‘Black’ iteration will arrive on January 14th on the Slam Jam website and through SNKRS on January 17th.
