Givenchy continues to explore the tension and contrast between the label’s tailoring heritage and the urban aesthetic Mathew M. Williams has evolved over his time at the label for its Spring/Summer 2023 campaign as the French fashion house hit up Jamaican music phenomenon, Alkaline to inject some his unmatched swagger into a selection of the collection’s hero pieces.
“He inspires me both as an artist and as a human being, so for this campaign I wanted to keep the focus on who he is and the very natural, authentic way he wears clothing” said Mathew M. Williams
Shot by Creative Director, Mathew M. Williams himself, the expressive campaign sees Alkaline appear in a number of standout pieces from a camouflage-inspired jacket with ‘ripped and repaired’ hand finishings to a logo-embroidered white leather jacket.
