More Graphic-Heavy Items.
As brands start gearing up for the upcoming Spring/Summer season, WACKO MARIA follows suit with their new collection that sees them expand on their graphic-loving designs with the inclusion of pop culture’s biggest names. Consisting mainly of artists such as Tupac, Jean-Michael Basquiat and Bob Marley, the collection sees their faces and their work make it onto the garments in an organic manner.
In typical WACKO MARIA fashion, the capsule consists of a wide range of silhouettes that are both formal and informal, being done in a streetwear context for ultimate wearability. The options are vast with pieces ranging from wool cardigans with Basquiat’s famous works and cheetah print Harrington jackets to even Cuban-collar shirts with an all-over Tupac print. Other references include nods to the anime Ghost in a Shell and the cult-favourite Texas Chainsaw Massacre film that make it onto some of the shirts as well. Overall, there is a very cohesive vintage aesthetic that alludes to the 90s Yakuza style that exudes effortless style in a well put-together way.
The collection is set to release in the coming months.
