A Tale as Old as Time.
adidas and iconic Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto have kept their brainchild, known as Y-3, firmly in the conversation as we head into FW23′ as they unveil their all-new GENDO sneaker.
Coming together for one of their most daring efforts of recent years, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 have sneakerheads floating with the GENDO sneaker, which arrives in two colourways as well as high and low-top variations. Having first been unveiled at the most recent Yohji Yamamoto runway show, the Y-3 GENDO sneaker boasts two triple black and triple white high-top iterations as well as two triple black and mixed black/white low-top versions, with the latter taking adidas’ iconic Superstar silhouette and reimagining it completely. Both high and low-top variations come with a striking fully hollowed out hard polymer sole plate and a premium leather upper, exploring the idea of negative space concept and elevation, whilst also vetoing a more conventional lacing system and introducing an expressive zip closure.
The Y-3 GENDO sneaker capsule will be available on October 21st via the adidas website.
