Classic Chelsea Meets Igbo Fabrics.
Chelsea F.C. has awarded Ebele Ojechi the Blue Creator Fund, allowing the Nigerian fashion designer to seamlessly weave Igbo fabrics into Chelsea’s historic blue and white colour scheme. The Blue Creator Fund was “created to disrupt the state of play, redefine the status quo and diversify football off the pitch,” supporting a generation of underrepresented creatives.
Ojechi’s collection links iconic Chelsea F.C. kits with Nigerian culturally impactful fabrics, seamlessly bringing one of the club’s most significant fanbases to the spotlight. On the football side, Ojechi has pulled kits from every generation, from the 00-01 goalkeeper shirt to fan scarves from over the years. These emblematic designs have been sewn into traditional Igbo attire, formulating a collection that highlights both sides’ impacts on the beautiful game.
