The duo step in following Adrian Appiolaza's departure
Moschino wasted no time filling its creative director vacancy, announcing Sunnei founders Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo as its new co-creative directors. The appointment comes just days after the departure of Adrian Appiolaza, whose exit from the Italian fashion house was confirmed on Friday.
Founded in Milan in 2015, Sunnei has built a reputation for its unconventional approach to fashion, merging contemporary design with playfulness, experimentation and a strong digital presence. Under Messina and Rizzo, the brand became known for its fun runway concepts and unique take on luxury, qualities that align closely with Moschino’s own heritage under founder Franco Moschino.
In a statement, Aeffe chairman Massimo Ferretti described the pair as possessing “a contemporary creative vision” and “the ability to develop relevant and distinctive creative languages,” expressing confidence in their ability to lead the next phase of Moschino’s evolution.
The appointment marks a major moment for both designers, who exited Sunnei after a decade leading the label in 2025. Their first collection for Moschino is expected to debut during Milan Fashion Week this September.
