The British fashion house returns home this September

McQueen is finally returning home for its Spring/Summer 2027 runway show, marking a significant homecoming for the British fashion house, which last showed in London in 2022 under the direction of Sarah Burton. The presentation, scheduled for 20th September, will be Seán McGirr’s first show in London since taking on the role of creative director.

The collection will feature both womenswear and menswear, continuing McGirr’s exploration of the house’s heritage. Founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in London in 1992, the brand’s return to the capital signals a renewed commitment to the city that shaped its identity.

In a statement, McGirr described London as being “at the heart of McQueen”, citing the city’s creative energy as an ongoing source of inspiration for the house. CEO Gianfranco D’Attis echoed the sentiment, calling the move a meaningful moment for the brand and reaffirming its commitment to London’s creative community.

The announcement has also been welcomed by the British Fashion Council, with CEO Laura Weir describing McQueen’s return as a statement of confidence in British creativity. As London Fashion Week continues to evolve, the addition of one of Britain’s most influential fashion houses is set to be one of the season’s most anticipated moments.
