A ramble worth taking.
Story mfg. and ASICS are back for another collab, and this time they’re taking the scenic route. Reuniting with the Japanese sportswear giant, the British label has just revealed a brand-new project that looks to the idea of rambling – a term that describes the simple pleasure of enjoying the freedom to wander, explore and doing things without a set plan or destination.
Arriving in two colourways – “Grey and Black” and “Rich Brown” – both versions of the GEL-TRANSCEND FJ feature recycled synthetic leather overlays and a signature Story mfg. print inspired by vintage hiking blankets. Underfoot, an aggressive tread sole keeps things grippy without adding extra weight.
The campaign itself takes a similar path, with shots featuring a mix of foragers, blacksmiths, dancers, farmers and cyclists. Each subject brings their own take on rambling, showing that there’s plenty of ways to make the most of the journey, wherever it happens to lead.
The Story mfg. x ASICS GEL-TRANSCEND FJ launches on 11 November via Story mfg.’s website, followed by a wider release at selected stockists worldwide on 20 November. What’s more, the duo will also be opening the “RAMBLING CLUB”, with a clubhouse popping up at Story mfg.’s London studio on 7 and 8 November, followed by a smaller get-together at New York’s Blue In Green on 10 November.
