PAUSE Predictions: LC:M Spring/Summer 2015 Shows

By June 11, 2014Fashion Events

With LC:M SS15 now just less than a week away, the PAUSE team is getting excited as to what designers, young and established alike, will be bringing to London Collections: Men. The three-day event has grown massively over the last couple years and with it, London has been able to certify itself as the home of menswear. We’re looking forward to seeing what designers bring to our shores, Jeremy Scott’s first menswear collection for Moschino, being just one certified highlight. Here’s a PAUSE lowdown to give you an insight into a few trends you may see at LC:M.

All black white everything

all white 1all white 2MRK_1422.450x675YVL_2409.450x675We’ve all embraced all black from time to time, but maybe it’s a bit too much to ask for all the time? Creeping in to the back-end of last season, all white is soon to take off and we feel plenty of designers will be creating a few all white looks in different textures. All white was definitely being introduced in the Fall 14 shows, with MAN producing some of the best of the looks.

Oversized shirts to get even longer

High-street and designers alike have all introduced long length garments to their collections. Oversized shirts can be found everywhere and we love them. Designer Rick Owens is just one high end designer embracing long length. They add an instant statement, whether they are basic or print, and the shape and contour they create make a very strong look.

Textures on textures

JilJil 2Designers are getting more adventurous and more creative with their designs recently. PAUSE thinks that textures are going to go through the roof in SS15 and we have already had a taste of what’s to come with designers including zip details for decorative purposes. It’s great to see designers pushing the boundaries and we think that key textures we will see on the runway are lace, mesh and plenty of PVC. We definitely see this being the key trend all across LC:M!

Leather

Black and white leather products have always been favourites among designers. More often that not that is what designers will stick to and experiment with studs and pattern. Yet for LC:M SS15, we feel we may start to see colour leather on show.

Creepers

Creepers have always come around in fashion and when they are on trend, they can be found everywhere! Saint Laurent have released a creeper collection for AW14, yet these creeper styles may also find themselves in SS15 collections too. We’re big fans of these shoes and expect many other footwear brands to follow suit.

Double Denim and patches

Many of us will of tried to pull off double denim, but to make it a strong and fashionable look is difficult. We could see different shades of denim being paired up, layered with pattern, or perhaps we will see the return of patches on denim.

These are just a few trends PAUSE think may be set to brace the catwalk this Sunday-Tuesday. Not only are we looking forward to seeing all the shows, but also seeing what style the crowds bring with them. The PAUSE team will be on the look out to take street style shots of the best dressed from the event every day and uploading them onto the website. You’ll also be able to see and read all the latest shows on www.pausemag.co.uk!

What new trends do you think we will see at London Collections: Men SS15?
