Chalayan Spring/Summer 2016 collection
Chalayan has a way of not only designing clothes but adding a second layer of stories to what he creates. Perhaps you have already seen his Fall/Winter 2015/16 collection inspired by the movie Murder on the Orient Express with snow-capped mountain prints on edgy but functional designs. For the Spring/Summer 2016 collection he continues to push forward an even more eccentric look. The movie inspiration may not be so heavy this time and is more reminding us of the good old days when we could spend days reading cartoons. Think business and add quirky graphics, oversize pocket protectors and tapered trousers.
Take away the graphics and prints and you would get a super clean well made collection. It is the balance if these two that makes it interesting and you actually enjoy spending a moment to figure out the look.
