In celebration of their 25th year anniversary, the retailer slash creative agency, Slam Jam Socialism have teamed up with Vans for a playfully colourful and revitalised take on the classic Vans slip-on, Sk8-Hi and Old Skool models, with each shoe directly reflecting on Slam Jam’s art, music and cultural roots.
The Vans Classic slip-on is dipped in an assortment of colours from the red and blue spectrum, giving the shoe a rainbow-like pattern across, matching their happy-go-lucky video, with the Vans Old Skool also following this same rainbow-like feature; however, this time around the midsole, which then stops at the toecap. The Sk8-Hi is dressed in a monochromatic, grey upper with a bright pink lining, which follows the elated theme of this highly anticipated collaboration. Adding to the colourful nature of the shoes, are the heat map designs placed on the vulcanised sole of each shoe, used to graphically depict the shape of the underfoot.
The Slam Jam Socialism x Vans collection is due to drop online at Slam Jam Socialism and selected Vans retailers on June 11th, along with a special in store event at Slam Jam Milano being held on the same day. Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
