A celebration of the queer subculture in Milan
Walking in high heels for the next season, anyone? This is what twin brothers and fashion designers Dean and Dan Caten might expect from you anyway. The duo behind Dsquared2 unveiled their Spring/Summer 2017 collection during Milan Fashion Week, enchanting the audience with a series of destroyed washed-out denim pieces, flower prints and studded details.
The deliberated punk atmosphere of the Dsquared2 fashion show, glamouring the rock star and praising the “urban tough guy”, paid tribute to the many subcultures throughout the world. The Canadian duo behind Dsquared2 also opted for statement pieces – such as sequined pink boots and face piercings to celebrate the queer culture, a week after the tragic Orlando mass shooting. We can only approve.
