IKEA turned lemons into lemonade when they saw the $2, 145 USD Balenciaga bag that looked strikingly similar to their own $0.90 Frakta tote. Now, the social media craze continues by the grace of another customized sneaker — this time, using among adidas’s most popular silhouettes to date.
Instagram user edmondlooj just transformed a pair of adidas UltraBOOST kicks, mixing the Scandinavian furniture and homewear retailer’s signature blues and yellows to forge an industrial aesthetic. The sneaker has been entirely metamorphosed, with IKEA branding tags making up the new lacing cage and heel tongue. Tags decorate the zip tied cage and outside of the heel, while the BOOST midsole has been plastered with blue fabric.
