With appetising starters, meals designed to be shared in traditional Middle-Eastern fashion, tasty mains, mouth-watering desserts and relaxing teas to wrap up your meal – when it comes to food, this restaurants definitely holds it’s own. Although the colourful menu leaves you spoilt for choice, the Lambshuka, which is a sharing plate of lamb, herbs, preserved lemon mixed tahini & nuts is a stand-out choice to begin your Delicatessen experience.
For the mains, you have your choice of scrumptious options for one, or to be enjoyed in mezzo-style sharing plate. Delectable options like a Bone marrow & ribeye burger with mustard mayo pulled chips, seared fresh tuna salad or mixed grill for two with chicken thighs, kebab, Lamb chops, merguez and rib eye steak are a testament to the Delicatessen’s varied and flavoursome menu. Looking to have the full Middle Eastern sharing experience, we opted for the Mixed Grill paired with a bottle of Giuliano Chianti from the Delicatessen’s expansive selection of wines.
To round off the meal, the Delicatessen’s dessert menu is short and sweet. We opted for the Malabi with passion fruit, rose petals, coconut & nut brittle, and the Basbousa cake with tahini semifreddo, mint jelly and raspberry & lemon coulis. Both were highly recommended and definitely lived up to expectations.
