Taking a new direction.
Taking his Off-White™ imprint in a new direction, Virgil Abloh recently unveiled his brand’s latest Pre-Autumn 2020 menswear collection.
Titled ‘Pivot,’ which seems to be a nod to the new creative direction the label is taking, Off-White ™’s latest offering sees a collection informed by office uniforms, fusing the label’s streetwear aesthetic to pieces such as flared leather trousers, tailored topcoats, patchwork denim jeans, blazers and textured shirts decorated with emblems. Repurposing signature Off-White™ motifs such as the stripes and crosses, the ‘Pivot’ collection sees belts and tote bags dressed in debossed stripe designs and the iconic cross logo, while the collection is rounded out with Off-White™ jewellery in the form of sports chains, chunky necklaces, as well as new sneakers and boots.
Speaking on the collection and the new direction, Virgil Abloh who had recently taken a step back from travelling and speaking engagements, said “Off-White™ isn’t the new kid on the block anymore… I was interested in fast-forwarding the menswear, and adding in leather and a slimmer silhouette. It has been quite liberating to explore a different guy and to pivot the brand. I am entering a new phase.”
