According to reports by Bloomberg, Italian label Moncler’s burgeoning popularity and prowess has paid off and caught the attention of behemoth conglomerate Kering with the two reportedly in exploratry talks of an acquisition deal.

Kering, the parent company to other luxury labels such as Saint Laurent, Gucci & Balenciaga, has reportedly held provisional discussions with the skiwear label, however, when pressed by the New York publication, Moncler downplayed the event saying it;

“maintains contacts and interacts with investors and other sector participants, including the Kering group, in order to explore strategic potential opportunities to further promote the successful development of Moncler, At the moment, however, there is not any concrete hypothesis under consideration.”

While for many labels Kering’s support is the golden ticket, as many have already commented, Moncler is a well-established label with great distribution, product and market presence – speculating what Kering can bring to the table. Thoughts? Stay tuned for more.
