On top of converting perfume and cosmetic factories to producing hand sanitisers, luxury conglomerate LVMH has announced that it will also be supplying the French authorities with at least 40 million masks to help fight the coronavirus.
Beginning from early next week, according to a statement released by LVMH, the company has stepped in to help secure an order from a Chinese manufacturer. Looking to start production immediately, the company’s CEO Bernard Arnault has opened up the LVMH purse to fund the first batch of masks which will consist of seven million surgical masks and three million FFP2 masks, with a similar order set to made in the next coming weeks ultimately totalling to 40 million masks.
