Seen on Farfetch.
Announced almost two months ago by the artist formally known as Kanye West, we are finally starting to see some product from the YEEZY, Gap and Balenciaga collaboration.
Surrounded in speculation due to the ever-busy lifestyle of Mr West. The collaboration that is officially being referred to as “YEEZY x Gap Engineered by Balenciaga” sees Ye and Balenciaga’s creative director Demna link up for a three-way partnership that won’t just be Balenciaga at Gap prices but one that is set to redefine how accessibility in luxury fashion looks.
Adding to what has been a successful collaboration between YEEZY and Gap, although we’ve only seen a handful of releases so far. And while much has been speculated about Ye and Demna’s latest collaboration, there hasn’t been much given away by the two parties when it comes to what the products would look like. However, thanks to some images that surfaced on Farfetch, we now have a first look at what we think will be some of the offerings from this much-hyped collaboration.
In the form of a hoodie and t-shirt, we see earth tone coloured garments with shapes that are eerily reminiscent of the YEEZY x Gap pieces. The hoodie seems to feature a similar double-layer construction while the t-shirt takes on a shapeless cut usually seen in Ye’s Sunday Service uniforms. Both garments feature have a slouched look that seems to have become a design language for Ye and are finished with an image of a soaring dove on the back.
With scarce details on this collaboration, the first drop sees a selection of eight styles including a hoodie, tee and pair of trousers. However, the first drop is to be expected for June 2022, with a second drop following shortly after.
