Having long had a history of viral antics, some of which have landed them in some hot water, New York-based collective MSCHF have taken things up a level once again as they debut their Microscopic Handbag.
Modelled after the iconic Louis Vuitton OnTheGo tote bag, this newest effort sees MSCHF follow on from their internet-breaking Big Red Boots with their most off-the-wall entry yet, debuting a green mini accessory which comes in tinier than a grain of salt. The piece comes in at 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers, with the semi-translucent piece arriving in a shade of electric green and additionally boasts the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram print, with MSCHF’s chief creative officer Kevin Wiesner stating that the project was birthed out of the idea that luxury handbags are continuing to get smaller and smaller as time goes on. The ‘bag’ itself is composed of resin and was formed through a microscopic 3D printing process known as two-photon polymerization.
MSCHF’s Microscopic Handbag is primed to release only at Sarah Andelman‘s Just Phriends auction on June 19th.
