Presented as part of the Co-Ed 2023 collection, Maison Margiela have stepped forward with American heritage weaver brand Pendleton for a new collaboration.
The extensive collection combines the rich heritage of Pendleton and their attention to design details with the haute couture grammar of Maison Margiela Creative Director John Galliano, with the proposal putting forward a range of outerwear, tailoring, dresses, rompers, denim pieces and shirting. The Southern Gothic scene, American West aesthetics, American cinema, as well as young punk scenes inform the design ethos of the collection, with the genderless collection featuring Pendleton’s archives as three mid-century weaves are handpicked by John Galliano, including a red buffalo pattern, a sunset plaid in pink and blue pastel colours, and a windowpane check print in red, white and black.
