A vintage design reworked for charity.
In celebration of Disney’s centennial, French fashion house Maison Margiela has unveiled a limited edition donation piece to be auctioned for Make-A-Wish, a foundation that helps fulfil the dreams of children with critical illnesses. The media giant’s Create 100 campaign invited the world’s most creative visionaries to contribute art, objects and experiences that reflected their own relationships to the stories and characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and 20th Century.
Renowned for deconstructing vintage clothing, Maison Margiela has upcycled a white Mickey Mouse-print T-shirt with frayed stitching, raw edges and haphazard slashes. The brand’s signature label motif is detailed with information about the unique garment, such as the period it originates from and where it was sourced.
The Maison Margiela Mickey Mouse T-shirt will be available at auction on September 27th.
