Here's what you missed...
On 13th June, British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins hosted An Evening with David Beckham in West London. This exclusive celebration marked the launch of its partnership with the iconic sportsman. As a long-term fan of the company, Beckham decided to collaborate with B&W because of its unrivalled reputation for excellence, craftsmanship and class-leading, premium design. The duo’s latest campaign centres around Bowers & Wilkins’ noise-cancelling wireless headphones, the Px8, combining powerful performance with outstanding comfort.
Award-winning broadcaster, Lauren Laverne, sat down with the London-born midfielder to discuss the ever-present role music has played in his life. The conversation revealed Beckham’s lifelong love of music, influenced by his parents’ favourite artists and its significance throughout his illustrious sporting career.
The former England player reflected on how it’s become a shared passion within his own family:
“I love going to record stores, especially in London. I did that a lot when I used to go home when we had the odd weekend off. What I love now is that my youngest son Cruz is obsessed with going to record stores, always coming back with lots of different records.”
The night was capped off by an intimate and mesmerising live show from GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Jordan Rakei, who was recently named Abbey Road Studios’ first ‘Artist in Residence.’
