Although Arashi Yanagawa, the founder of John Lawrence Sullivan, did not train as a fashion designer and instead worked as a professional boxer, he has quickly become a creative that many look to in order to view the traditional tailoring, cuts, fits and designs reimagined and re-energised. Interestingly, the label’s name comes from paying respect to the renowned Irish-American boxer that embodied traits of strength, dignity, bravery and personality, all attributes that Yanagawa tries to encapsulate into his work.
