Stone Island is putting its foot down with a fresh set of pics from its “Navigation Series”, as it takes things up a gear with its most hard-hitting release yet.
Marking its firth instalment, the latest photo series takes things to the racetrack, looking at the link between navigation, speed and precision. First launched in April 2023, the project takes inspiration from the compass featured on Stone Island’s badge, which has been part of the brand since its debut collection in 1982.
As the name suggests, ‘Traction Control’ is all about life in the fast lane. Here, photographer Liam MacRae captures a rider performing a burnout on the circuit, with the tyre marks left behind forming the shape of the Stone Island Compass. A second image moves in closer, showing the rider wearing a helmet wrapped in the same motif.
Taking things beyond the track, Stone Island has also installed large-scale billboards throughout Monza, one of Italy’s most iconic racing circuits, giving the project a fitting home.
