Who's copping tomorrow?
London-based label Corteiz and Nike are continuing to build their own version of the MCU, with another character stepping into the spotlight for their latest Shox R419 collab. Following the recent tease of the “Silver Surfer” colourway, the duo have now unveiled a second model inspired by Mystique, the shape-shifting X-Men fave.
Indeed, a closer look at the sneaker reveals plenty of attention to detail, with the usual Shox cushioning system remaining in place beneath the heel. Up top, the design takes on a completely different feel by introducing layered ridged sections across the front and sides, alongside carbon-fibre-inspired panels that gives the silhouette a proper automotive feel.
But that’s not all. Elsewhere, a red “C” appears on the tongue, sitting above “CRTZ SHOX” lettering, while a see-through panel at the back offers a glimpse of the “R419” branding stashed underneath. Flip the sneakers over and you’ll find colourful engine-inspired artwork printed across the insoles. Each pair also comes with a custom Corteiz-branded bolt washer, adding another finishing touch to the release.
As for the apparel, the duo have given the sportswear side of things plenty of attention. A technical tracksuit heads up the selection, featuring black contrast panels, mesh detailing and “CRTZ SHOX” text, while a futuristic graphic printed on the lining provides a little surprise. ‘Cos after all, even superheroes need something to wear off duty.
