MFW: Philipp Plein SS15 Collection

By June 23, 2014Fashion Shows

A Philipp Plein show always promises to never be a simple runway show, with the SS15 backdrop being a public swimming pool for Milan Fashion Week.Philipp Plein banner

The designs themselves took inspiration from the navy military style, meaning the collection obviously included plenty of navy, in a variety of shades. Many pieces had navy anchor patches with gold embroidery and plenty of sparkle to give some garments a varsity look and feel. These patches were found on sweatshirts, blazers, trousers and sweatpants. Our favourite from the show was a white robe with ‘PP’ embroidery and navy patches.

The SS15 show included plenty of leather. Garments such as red and navy leather jackets with snakeskin embellishments, a black leather waistcoat and a pair of leather shorts were just some of the leather products from the Philipp Plein show. Leather was also used as detailing, most notably as lapels.

Denim followed the ripped jeans trend, appearing in both their light wash shorts and white jeans. Tailored jackets were often paired up with something more casual on the runway, with one blazer being made out of denim with crystal lapels.

Casual slip-ons, simple strapped sandals and big stand out sneakers were three SS15 footwear styles from the Philipp Plein collection.
