With the British summer not disappointing us that much this year, PAUSE have put together some style tips when it comes to picking your perfect barbecue outfit, whether that be for a casual event or formal.
Sunglasses
Hazy sunshine or 12pm rays, it’s always good to be prepared and to wear a pair of sunglasses. There are so many styles out there this summer, ranging from aviator to rounded, however we’re currently loving mirrored sunglasses which are a guaranteed way to make you stand out amongst your friends. It takes a confident person to pull of mirrored sunglasses!
Shirt
Whenever you attend a bbq, you always run the risk of ruining your favourite shirt from that unfashionable ketchup stain. So a PAUSE tip is to stay away from plain tees and shirts, especially if you’re the man who likes to feel like he is masterchef! We suggest wearing bold prints. Perfect summer attire, and if you spill something, nobody will notice, hopefully.
Shorts
Embrace the British summer time and roll them shorts just above the thigh. GQ have recently suggested this and we can’t disagree. Catch the summer rays whilst at the bbq. If you follow our shirt tip, then any simple one colour shorts will work great, or if you feel slightly more adventurous and liked our clashing prints article from last week, you could find some standout patterned shorts.
Shoes
“smart”, “smart casual” and “casual”. So what shoes should you wear? For a formal summer soiree loafers or slip ons will make you look the part. A causal weekend meet up trainers or espadrilles should do the trick.
