Everything about the scenery Umit Brenan chose for his Autumn/Winter 2016 collection was an ode to Japan and its habits. Fierce and powerful men wearing kimonos, relaxed silhouettes in draped shirts and long coats follow each other in rhythm, while the rest of their guests seem to be portrayed around a table, enjoying a Japanese saké or a Nyotaimori – traditional art of serving food on a naked body.
Travel has almost always been a forefront inspiration for fashion designers and Umit Benan’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection was no exception to the rule. Whereas he’s in Paris, wandering in Italy, collecting inspiration in Tokyo or Hong Kong, Umit Brenan gathers the most iconic and striking elements of his voyages. After being focused on the sport silhouettes in the Spring/Summer 2016 fashion presentation, the Umit Benan’s Autumn/Winter 2016 aimed at surprising both their Parisian guests and worldwide audience.
