A.P.C’s British-inspired collection familiarises their audience with it’s utilitarian wear.
In a years time, A.P.C will have have crossed it’s thirty-year mark. However, even though the brand has hit the big 3O, that doesn’t mean head honcho, Jean Touitou, will change any of their design process. It seems like Touitou prefers to focus on utilitarian wear but through a variety of different themes.Throughout the last thirty years, the brands signature designs have included oversized shirts, postman jackets, baggy jeans or shorts in indigo.
A.P.C SS17 collection is engulfed in different types of fabrics. Sun-bleached denims have been featured throughout the collection adding a sense of nostalgia the through the utilitarian items. A pair of off-white boat shoes that appear to be suede have been added to compliment the whole ensemble.
It seems as though this collection was inspired by British culture, with a variety of typically English colours being mix-matched into the line, including Prince of Wales check and dirty green. Such styles range from workwear shirts and shorts to leather accessories.
