Lemaire adopts new Art Director position at the Japanese brand.
Following a whole host of ultra-successful collaborations, it appears that Japanese born-and-bred Uniqlo will be appointing Christophe Lemaire as their new Art Director. His first point of business involves curating an entire new line, entitled ‘Uniqlo U’ which promises to be more affordable and democratic.
The line was previously inspired by the earlier Uniqlo x Jil Sanders collection, (+J), however hopes to undertake the concept of ‘elevated basics’ and aims to bridge the gap between what is ‘fashion’ and what is ‘normal.’ The new line promises to house not only menswear, but womenswear, accessories and shoes and will be stocked this fall in over 1,000 of Uniqlo’s stores, already establishing its accessible persona.
