Italian fine dining in Covent Garden
Where: Fumo, St Martins Lane, London
Having opened in September this year, Fumo follows the successes of the Italian family owned San Carlo London restaurants Signor Sassi (Knightsbridge) and Cicchetti (Piccadilly and Covent Garden). Quite literally at the heart of the bustle in Covent Garden, it’s the perfect spot for pre theatre dinner. With its plush interior you will certainly want to wear your best fit for the occasion.
Greeted by the uber friendly Italian staff, you feel at home from the start, and can embrace the warm ambience.
The menu consists of small plates, which are designed to be shared, and therefore the experience is all the more social! Plus, the added bonus is that you can taste more of the menu and open up your palette! The cuisine promotes local specialities from different Italian regions and includes dishes like Tagliolini Lobster, Homemade Gnocchi Truffle (crispy gnocchi with cheese fondue with truffle) and Tuna Tartare made at your table with the best Sicilian tuna; we tried this and recommend it (great for the ‘gram!).
Tip: Take the opportunity to seize the moment and try one of the fresh oysters!
Best bit? The seabass fillet. Full of flavour, light, and ever so moreish.
Don’t forget: To order a dish of Gamberoni, Sicilian prawns; so juicy, and cooked to perfection.
We PAUSE Fumo; 10 out of 10.
