Haring's legacy lives on.
Legendary artist Keith Haring is a favourite of the fashion industry, and while the late artist’s pop art has inspired countless collections, French label Lacoste is the latest to honour his work released in collaboration with the American native’s foundation.
One of the most influential voices in pop art, Haring, as with other artists of the period, did not stick strictly to one discipline but experimented with sculpture, painting and fashion. During his lifetime, he sealed his status by producing collaborations with the likes of Grace Jones, Vivienne Westwood and jewellery designer David Spada, this latest collection continues the icon’s relationship with fashion.
Featuring Haring’s classic motif’s, the ’80s inspired Missouri trainer features an all over printed upper, the Lacoste crocodile embroidered on the side a laces/velcro combo and arrive in either navy or white.
This collaboration, in conjunction with Louise Trotter showing her first collection as the creative director of the French label last month, is making the nostalgic label see somewhat of a surge in interest.
