First seen on the runway.
With one of the premier shows of a busy New York Fashion Week schedule, Kerby Jean Raymond’s Pyer Moss treated on-lookers to a debut of it’s Reebok by Pyer Moss Collections 3 and Collections 3.5.
Collections 3 and 3.5 are the next chapter in Pyer Moss’ “American, Also.” series, continuing to focus on the human condition and shedding light to forgotten stories. Drawing inspiration from the concept of Sankofa, a Twi word that translates to “Go back and get it,” and is taken from the Akan tribe in Ghana. The idea of Sankofa is represented by an image of a bird fetching an egg, which is artfully integrated into several key pieces in the collection.
Held at the historic Kings Theater in Brooklyn, New York, the catwalk show also saw the debut of the new Reebok by Pyer Moss Experiment 4, the Fury Trail sneaker. With a unique design that splits into three distinct layers, the shoe was designed as a sacred object that represents all those who climb to success through the creating of something sacred in the face of adversity. The sneaker will be available in two colourways – black, baked clay and autumn yellow, as well as a primal red, sand trap and thirsty blue, before additional colourways drop in the coming year.
The Reebok by Pyer Moss Collection 3 will be dropping in October, while Collection 3.5 will be coming in Spring 2020. See some of the collection in the images below:
