PAUSE Highlights: 30 Black Voices To Follow Right Now

50 Black Voices To Follow Right Now

I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.”  – Malcom X.

Word of mouth will remain the most powerful tool in the box and silent is what we won’t be. At PAUSE we continue to bask in the cultural sphere that we’re in, and in further support to the #BlackLivesMatter movement, we have highlighted some poignant voices that (in no particular order) we would like for you to PAUSE and follow.

Week 6, overload. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My way of thinking has become very erratic and irrational. I’m a person that makes sense of the world through patterns and observations but there is no yellow brick road to follow in times like these ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Online activism hasn’t felt quite right, educating myself everyday endless has become mind numbing and spending money with little promise of income seems silly ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t believe I’m any closer to making sense of this new way of living so instead I’m looking inwards, listening to my intuition and catching a tan whenever I can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How’s everyone else coping?

– The Tulsa race massacre (also called the Tulsa race riot, the Greenwood Massacre, or the Black Wall Street Massacre) of 1921 took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It has been called "the single worst incident of racial violence in American history." The attack, carried out on the ground and from private aircraft, destroyed more than 35 square blocks of the district – at that time the wealthiest black community in the United States, known as "Black Wall Street". – Karma – the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences. Law of Conservation – Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another Newtons Third Law – For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. #blackouttuesday #karma #godswill #retribution #cosmicorder #justice #blacklivesmatter #georgefloyd #racismneverended #theafricanholocaust #aboriginalman #firsthumans #origins #genesis #janeelliott #orderfromchaos #riots #newworldorder #artificialintelligence #totalitarianism #control #ageofrevolution #ageofrevelation #ageofaquarius

Thank you to everyone who has shared their anger and outrage at what is happening in the world and how we have all said “Enough” to institutional racism. This was be the beginning of a movement to make things better. We can’t expect like going to the gym and hitting the weights hard for a week then doing nothing for anything to happen. To be a happy, healthy and have a just society we must all do our bit EVERY SINGLE DAY to keep our own houses in order. Call out racism, mentor, make sure POC are in your boardrooms and making decisions. Don’t be scared to say and get things wrong. Talk, share, ask, listen and use your power, your voice and platform to make things a little better. If everyone makes things just a little better, that’s when the world changes, when slavery is abolished, when women can vote and dictators are deposed. Hold fast, be strong, be kind and let’s fucking do this. Enough. Please Share this. #justice #racism #equality #blm #diversity #beauty #georgefloyd #bethechange

Hillman Grad Family + Allies. We are heartbroken and outraged, just as you are. Our hearts are heavy and our hurt has turned into frustration at the lack of compassion and fortitude to stand up for black, queer, and trans communities that have been marginalized for far too long. ⁣ ⁣ To that end, we are dedicating and donating UPDATED to $45,000 directly to Black Protestors who are out on the frontlines – at the rallies – marching for justice and peace.⁣ ⁣ We want to lean in and help you cover bail, rent, bills, groceries or other financial needs during this time while you are out protesting. Comment below with your CashApp or Venmo listing your needs and we will continue to donate until our goal has been met. This will be an ongoing effort to provide the necessary resources for our fearless leaders.⁣ ⁣ We support the cause and we see you, we stand with you, we are you. In solidarity, Lena Waithe, @HillmanGradProductions, HillmanHELPS.
