Art on your back.
In Roman mythology, Venus was used for matters of the heart as she was the goddess of love, beauty, prosperity, fertility, and victory. Today, she can be found at the back of a grail-worthy Stussy jacket.
With cosy season in full effect, the Stussy fleece was released as part of the streetwear label’s Autumn 2021 collection. The off-white coloured jacket appears quite unassuming from the front, with black YKK zippers and a black nylon chest pocket with the label’s signature logo embroidered in white.
However, when you flip the poly sherpa piece onto its back the minimal winter-essential presents a more playful side. Covering the back is an image of the Greek goddess Venus, with her head slightly tilted to the right and flowing hair. The large graphic fills the entire back of the piece and is inspired by a famous painting by Sandro Botticelli titled “The Birth of Venus.”
