By September 9, 2024Fashion News

A Stellar Appointment.

After her decorated 13 year stint at the helm of Alexander McQueen, British designer Sarah Burton has been unveiled as the new creative director of Givenchy.

Taking to social media to share the news, heritage fashion house Givenchy have unveiled Sarah Burton as their new creative director, taking over from Matthew M. Williams. Effective immediately, Burton’s appointment at Givenchy spells out the beginning of an exciting new venture for the luxury French fashion outfit, with many critic’s bemusement of the brand’s direction seemingly being put to bed with this undoubted coup. Set to show her first Givenchy effort in March 2025, Burton is set to take the reins for the creative direction of all of the Maison’s Women’s and Men’s collections for the foreseeable future.

In a statement about her appointment at Givenchy, Sarah Burton said the following:

“It is a great honour to be joining the beautiful house of Givenchy, it is a jewel. I am so excited to be able to write the next chapter in the story of this iconic house and to bring to Givenchy my own vision, sensibility and beliefs.”
