Unexpected News.
Peter Do’s short stint at Helmut Lang has come to an end, with the Vietnamese creative director stepping down from his position.
Effective immediately, Peter Do’s exit from his esteemed position at Helmut Lang was met with confusion, especially considering the general feeling of excitement and anticipation that greeted him on his way into the role. Being appointed as Helmut Lang creative director back in 2023, this short-lived tenure at the top of Helmut Lang means that the ongoing industry-wide roundabout continues to swirl, with Helmut Lang strugglingly to build upon past successes in particular. Releasing two collections in his time at the fashion house, Do was greeted with mixed reviews to his debut SS24 effort and a slightly warmer one to his FW24 entry, but this news sees a bigger cloud cast over the tenure.
In a statement about the news, Peter Do shared the following:
“I want to express my gratitude to my Helmut Lang team who have been integral in supporting my vision. It’s been an incredible journey to be tasked to carry on the legacy of Helmut Lang.”
