A night of wins.

The MOBO Awards returned last night, taking place at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, spotlighting excellence in Black music.

Darkoo took home both Best Female Act and Song of the Year for Favourite Girl featuring Dess Dior. Central Cee continued his dominance, securing Best Male Act for the second year in a row, equaling Stormzy’s record of seven MOBO wins.

Ayra Starr broke records as the first woman in 16 years to claim both Best African Music Act and Best International Act. Rising star Odeal earned recognition as Best Newcomer and Best R&B/Soul Act, while Scorcher won Best Grime Act and Pozer claimed Best Drill Act. Mnelia’s My Man won Video of the Year.

The night also honoured trailblazers beyond music—Olympian Denise Lewis received the Paving the Way Award, and dancehall icon Vybz Kartel was celebrated with the Impact Award.
