An Evolving Collab.
adidas keeps releasing top tier collaborations, this time continuing their partnership with Avavav, and SS26 might be their strongest chapter yet. Rather than starting from scratch, creative director Beate Skonore Karlsson doubles down on what already works, pulling from archival sporting codes and pushing them somewhere more considered.
The clothes do the talking: sculpted track sets, a base layer dressed up to look like a track top, a shoulderless hoodie, a hooded mini dress, all circling the same idea of what sportswear can be when a woman is actually behind it. The leather sports bag is back too, bigger than ever, alongside a sweatband set and a slashed double-brim cap that rounds out the accessories nicely.
Footwear-wise, the Avavav Megaride gets a leaner, more stripped-back treatment compared to the chunky Moonrubber from last season with same DNA, cleaner execution, and mesh uppers that have that signature caged, almost skeletal look the brand has made its own. The Modified Superstar returns in two versions: one deconstructed with a soft collapsible upper, the other covered in faux pony hair, which is either insane or brilliant depending on who you ask. The collaboration drops May 22nd on CONFIRMED, adidas.com, and in select stores.
