Inside One of London’s Most Aesthetically Pleasing Supermarkets

Who knew grocery shopping could look this good?

Grocery shopping isn’t something we tend to get particularly excited about, but London Epicerie in Belgravia may have just changed that. This food store may be a good excuse to be disloyal to your regular supermarket, and not because of what’s on the shelves.

Taking inspo from traditional European food stores, designer Deidra Hodgson created the space using natural light oak, warm stone finishes and almost perfectly arranged shelves, making for a rather aesthetically pleasing setting for your weekly food shop, especially for those who value organisation and practicality.

Founded by Jared Wybrow, the man behind London Cheesemongers, and Raissa van Dijk, London Epicerie offers the best of both British and European produce. Freshly baked bread, farmhouse cheeses, charcuterie, seasonal fruit and vegetables, wines and all those pantry essentials are available to shop.

Beyond the aesthetics, thoughtful service comes into play, with a team on hand to help shoppers learn more about what they’re buying, including the independent producers behind the products, where they come from and how best to enjoy them. The wine selection is overseen by former Brat head sommelier Daniel Garcia Thomas, while nutritional therapist Edmund Swinburn helps shape the store’s approach to everyday eating.
