This Season’s Top 5 Hats

By October 5, 2012Fashion News

Zara is known for being up to date with the latest trends and consistently giving us unique pieces that we don’t find in other high street stores. We love their Lookbook for October, as it gives us all the necessities we will need for a cold winter, like a nice double breasted coat or a blazer with contrasting elbow pads, both needed in your wardrobe this October!

The lookbook gives you ideas of how to mix a range of Autumn/Winter styles, with faux-fur and faux-leather being big this season. One of our favourites is a plain coat with a hood, worn with a plain white studded tee. Studs are definitely IN, and they make even the most simple outfit stand out and look really fashionable. Pair this with a pair of miner boots and trousers with satin piping for a complete look.

Another favourite is the white shirt with a faux-leather collar. Such a unique idea but looks amazing and with this added detail, the shirt goes from something simple to something incredibly stylish instantly! Can be great for a night out with plain trousers and a mohair cardigan!

Have a look at the rest of the Lookbook for some more ideas, but trust us, Zara has some great pieces for this season and they show you the best wear to wear them!

Sometimes there isn’t enough time to spend an hour fixing your hair. So an easy solution to this bedhead problem is a hat – it will top off your outfit nicely and is also convenient when you get caught in the rain without your umbrella.

We’ve been hunting down hats from a range of high street shops such as Topman and River Island as well as stores Trapstar and Educate & Elevate. Additionally, we’ve included an online site Hats and Caps featuring hundreds of different hat styles to choose from! We’re loving beanies and with so many different colours and styles available, you can find one to suit any outfit.

1) Topman’s red turn-up beanie

This limited edition beanie looks great with casual wear and will help brighten up any. Get yours online or from their flagship store in Oxford Street for just £8.

2) Trainerspotter x New Era

We are still a fan of the old classic Snapback so when we saw this New Era Grenade one, we were instantly obsessed. Differing from the typical ones we find, this includes a variety of colours, making it stand out instantly. The grenade is unique and not a design we usually see, which is why this is one of our favourite buys for this Autumn!

3) New Era Oakland Raiders Stripped Bobble

Loving American football and stuff that is rare? Something we love right now are the Raiders American football hats. This is one of our favourites at the moment, with lots to choose from Including Snapbacks and nice beanies! Our personal favourite is a striped bobble hat, which is available on the hats and caps website. This is perfect for the cold season and the stripes make it really diverse, plus it’s unlikely you’ll bump into loads of others wearing the same brand, as Raiders is just starting to get known!

4) Brixton Gain Hat – Black Felt

If you’re looking for something a bit less casual and more for a night out, there are some lovely hats on Urban Industry called ‘Brixton Gain Hats’, which we’ve seen around loads this Autumn! It features a metal badge and a colourful feather too, so not only is it black and goes with EVERYTHING, there’s also a little twist on the hat to make people stop and notice it even more!

5) Educate & Elevate Green Logo Beanie

Last but definitely not least, Educate & Elevate. With so many different coloured beanies to choose from (yes, we love beanies!) this is the perfect place if you’re looking for variety. Plain colours like black and grey never go out of style, but for this winter why not try a colour that’s slightly more ‘out there?’ This dark green colour could be perfect with a nice day outfit or pair with some skinnies and a nice jumper for a less casual look.

So, trendy bobble beanies or plain New Era fitted caps, some of these are must haves for your hat collection this Autumn. We would recommend at least two new hats, you can never have too many!
