Solange Knowles, the talented songstress who has become just as recognised for her fashion as she is for her music, is to collaborate with hot trainer brand PUMA. The ultra-cool singer will be the creative consultant and art director behind a new, female variant to the iconic Disc Blaze shoe, named the ‘Girls of Blaze’ Collection.
The PUMA Disc Blaze shoe came on the scene in 1993 and became one of the most innovative trainers to hit the footwear market. . Solange’s first task for the design team was to create a new trainer inspired by Brazilian Culture. Complimented for its unique design and fantastic use of colour combinations, this shoe is a perfect fit for the ever perfectly turned out Solange who is known for her love of trainers, and even one of the pioneers of a recent trend in blending sports shoes with formal wear, she will definitely give fans something special.
The collaboration will see young designers given the chance to reinvent the shoe. Design sisters Darlene and Lizzy Okpo of William Okpo are two of these lucky designers. We at PAUSE are excited to see what all the designers, such as the Okpo sisters, will do for the PUMA shoe. Get excited too because it’s set for release in February 2014!
